The band rounded off an incredible 18 months by supporting First Aid Kit (SWE) and Belle and Sebastian (UK). Consistently in demand, the four-piece played alongside the likes of The New Pornographers (CAN), Camera Obscura (UK), Sally Seltmann and Clare Bowditch, while recording their debut album with Sydney wunderkind Jonathan Boulet in his garage in Sydney. Produced by Scott Bromiley of The John Steel Singers, Little Scout released Take Your Light in August of 2011 and generated critical acclaim from local media. First single 'We Are Walking Out' received play on community radio stations and national youth broadcaster triple j, and prompted an east-coast tour with Sydney band Parades. Prior to the release of Little Scout’s debut album, the band independently released two EPs, The Dead Loss EP (2008) and Different in the Distance (2009). The band was named as one of triple j’s ‘Next Crop’ artists in late-2008, and made the state finals of MTV’s Kickstart competition in the same year.
