The Guppies started a matter of seconds ago in the depths of your local suburban garage and are influenced by The Vaccines, Wavves, The Libertines and a whiff of petrol fumes from the trusty family Volvo. Their sound evokes wild memories reminiscent of sneaking out at 2am, the angst of being a teenager and the warmth of grandpa’s favourite loafers.

With regular airplay of their fuel for teenage violence ‘Never Liked Mondays’ in mid 2011, 'The Guppies' have well and truly established themselves in the Aus music scene. A slot at Groovin The Moo, Fat as Butter, 2011 Triple J Unearthed High finalists and shows with Deep Sea Arcade, Ball Park Music, Loon Lake, Glass Towers and more led to their first headline show in Newcastle selling out with 250 punters cramming into the venue.

So don’t be anemone, and enjoy the tunes because musically speaking, you have just found your nemo.

“Great spirit, energy and melodically very catchy. Reminds me of The Saints which can’t be a bad thing!” Chris Cheney, The Living End

“if you guys keep writing such simplistically cool and catchy tracks like this, i don't think you guys will have any trouble getting noticed! diggin it.” Nick Findlay, Triple J

Henry Wagons comes at the camera with a disarming and friendly ease that can only come from years of performing on hundreds of stages around the world as one of Australia's most gifted songwriters. Whether delivering from a script or speaking off the cuff, Henry makes it his own, with youthful charm and humour which can interest a distracted crowd and speaks with weight and knowledge that can convince a more cultured audience.

Henry's talents earned him the honour of being named in The Age Melbourne Magazine's 'Top 100 Most Influential Melbournians' of 2009. Henry's career in front of the camera began with a stint on ABC2's 'DIG TV', bursting into peoples homes and picking apart their record collection. He then spent 2 and a half years as a regular presenter on the ABC's weekly national arts program - 'Sunday Arts/Art Nation'. Henry covered a wide range of topics from artists inspired by chess, an exhibition about the band Queen, the art of Disney animation and a story about boys in the Australian ballet. Henry is currently hosting a regular segment for Fairfax Media in their online presence for newspapers such as The Age and Sydney Morning Herald called "Shooting Pool with Henry Wagons" in which he interviews many Australian and international music legends over a game of pool, from Chris Cheney to Adilita. Henry also has extensive experience on popular music game shows, his profile around Australia has been built through multiple appearances on both Spicks n' Specks and Rockwiz as well as being the musical guest on many other network television shows.

Brisbane atmospheric indie-pop band Little Scout are back in the studio writing and recording their second album. The band rounded off an incredible 18 months by supporting First Aid Kit (SWE) and Belle and Sebastian (UK). Consistently in demand, the four-piece played alongside the likes of The New Pornographers (CAN), Camera Obscura (UK), Sally Seltmann and Clare Bowditch, while recording their debut album with Sydney wunderkind Jonathan Boulet in his garage in Sydney. Produced by Scott Bromiley of The John Steel Singers, Little Scout released Take Your Light in August of 2011 and generated critical acclaim from local media. First single 'We Are Walking Out' received play on community radio stations and national youth broadcaster triple j, and prompted an east-coast tour with Sydney band Parades.

Prior to the release of Little Scout’s debut album, the band independently released two EPs, The Dead Loss EP (2008) and Different in the Distance (2009). The band was named as one of triple j’s ‘Next Crop’ artists in late-2008, and made the state finals of MTV’s Kickstart competition in the same year. In
2009 Little Scout toured the east coast with Belles Will Ring and Philadelphia Grand Jury, and shortly after they jumped on board a regional Queensland tour with Josh Pyke. The band has also played alongside Jens Lekman (SWE), Holly Throsby, The Middle East, The John Steel Singers and Cloud Control.

“Take Your Light is a giant stylistic leap; ambitious, arty and accessible.” - 4 stars , JB MAG

“Little Scout make sublime atmospheric indie-pop. The Brisbane bands debut is like fairy floss dyed black.” - 4 stars , THE COURIER MAIL

“Take Your Light is a fine record in its own right, but what’s most satisfying is the promise it holds for Little Scout’s future.” - MESS+NOISE

“Little Scout deliver sweet pop tunes which use layered instrumentation to compliment singer Melissa Tickle’s delicate yet definite voice.” - AU REVIEW

“Relying mainly on reverb-drenched guitars with a strong emphasis on dual female vocals, the set was a solid showcase of their growing repertoire. Swirling drums and jangly guitars provided a gentle push that ensured a fluid set.” - DRUM MEDIA , Sydney

“Melissa Tickle’s voice is adorable, her voice leads the band inexorably down the path of gentle, Blasko-y Scando pop” - THE BRAG

WAGONS are unanimously lauded as one of Australia’s great acts. Led by the rare charisma of frontman Henry Wagons they offer heavy doses of stomping outlaw country, irresistible crooning and classic pop. Wagons have released 5 albums and made their North American debut with the 2011 release of Rumble, Shake and Tumble on Thirty Tigers and Six Shooter Records resulting in National Public Radio getting on board with “I Blew It” featured as 'Track of the Day'.

In both the live forum and on record, the band draw upon an uncommon range of influences given the current musical climate, including jump suit era Elvis, Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash, the grit between the floorboards at the Ole’ Opry, the spit in 70’s trumpet sections and Cormac MacCarthy’s psychedelic Westerns. Their live show is a performance like no other, treading a line between a Vegas 70s showroom extravaganza and a bunch of freshfaced undertakers letting loose at a rained sodden rock festival.

As vibrant as Wagons’ recorded work is, it’s their dynamic, unpredictable live shows that solidified their reputation as a band to remember. Henry feels that groups can’t just recreate their albums live and neglect the visual elements. At a Wagons show, he states, “You'll find a lot of energy, a lot of interaction and talk. We never leave anything behind. Small or large stage, we play like every show is the headlining slot at Woodstock.”

While he believes Rumble, Shake & Tumble best captures the band’s live show, Henry asserts that “seeing us live completes the picture. I like to think that live we sound like the album, but with added spectacular benefits. All of the band are big and tall personalities, bursting off the stage. I think people can feel and see that.”

Having spent the last few years touring with the likes of Lucinda Williams, Justin Townes Earle, Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zero’s, Calexico, Bill Callahan, Will Oldham, Okkervil River, John Hiatt, Jolie Holland and just recently completing a 16 date USA tour including SXSW showcases, it is safe to say that Wagons are a road-hardened, formidable live band.

“Wagons crafts a just-right mixture of the self-deprecating, the selfdestructive and the self-referential throughout the album, and the result is suitable for blaring out of every bar from St. Louis to Sydney.” NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO / USA

“Wagons ‘ poppy, soulful cow-punk is as clever as it is swagerrific” **** STARS ‘NOW ALBUM OF WEEK’ TORONTO

“Wagons are kinda Rock a Billy kinda Alt-Country, kinda Indie, that’s what makes this CD so interesting. It’s a cross of all three and yet it has its own distinct genre. It got my attention quickly!” AMERICAN GAZZETTE
